AI Agents

Praxi includes six specialised AI agents, each designed for a specific domain of practice management. All agents operate within strict privacy boundaries and require human approval for any actions that modify data. AI does not train on your practice data, and all processing uses Australian-hosted infrastructure.

The Six Agents

Praxi -- Clinical

The clinical assistant, shown as Praxi in the AI panel, helps with clinical documentation, report drafting and compliance checks. It uses the most capable AI model available. It works from what you recorded and wrote. It does not form clinical judgements of its own.

CapabilityDescription
Clinical notesDraft SOAP, DAP, BIRP, narrative, ADIME, ICF and functional notes
Session summariesCreate client-friendly session summaries
Mental state examinationStructure an MSE from your recorded observations
Report draftingDraft psychology reports, court reports and GP letters for your edit
Case formulationWrite up your own formulation from your notes
Assessment summaryShow the published score band and the instrument's citation
Goal progressSummarise recorded goal progress alongside outcome measure scores
Treatment plan reviewSummarise the existing plan for a review meeting
Compliance checksCheck documentation against AHPRA and Privacy Act requirements
Mandatory reporting guidanceExplain the reporting obligations in your jurisdiction
Consent guidanceExplain consent requirements for minors and couples
Subpoena responseAnalyse records for subpoena compliance and privilege issues
File processingProcess uploaded referrals, handwritten notes and reports

It is suited to documentation work: drafting a GP progress letter at a Medicare review point, reviewing a note for compliance, or preparing a court report for your edit.

What the clinical assistant does not do

Praxi's AI does not originate clinical decisions. It does not:

  • suggest a diagnosis or ICD-10-AM code
  • write a treatment plan or recommend treatment goals
  • rate or assess risk, or analyse notes for risk indicators
  • write a safety plan
  • recommend an intervention, a client tool, homework, an assessment or a care pathway
  • judge whether a client is ready for discharge

Those decisions stay with you. Risk is recorded by you in the client's risk register and notes. Assessment results show the instrument's published score bands, not an AI interpretation.

How AI Routing Works

When you interact with the AI, Praxi automatically routes your query to the most appropriate agent based on the content and context of your request. You can also select a specific agent directly using the Agent Tab Bar at the top of the chat panel. Praxi always appears first as your main point of contact, with contextually relevant specialist agents shown alongside.

The system selects the right AI model for each request based on the task complexity. Approximately 70% of requests use the fastest model, 25% use a balanced model, and 5% use the most capable model:

  • Routine queries (scheduling, billing, help) use the fast model for instant responses
  • Research, analytics, and automation tasks use the balanced model for deeper reasoning
  • Clinical documentation and report drafting use the most capable model

The system automatically escalates to a more capable model when it detects clinical urgency, PHI-sensitive content, or high complexity in the request.

Subscription tier gating enforces model ceilings: Student and Essentials plans use the efficient model, Pro plans can access the balanced model, and Enterprise plans have access to the most capable model. Specialist agents (the clinical assistant, Ada, Warren, Brene and Linus) require a Pro plan or higher -- Essentials plans include Jarvis, the operations assistant, and the Praxi orchestrator.

Human Approval Required

All AI actions that modify data produce a suggestion that you must explicitly approve before it takes effect.

Examples:

  • Praxi drafts a clinical note -- you review, edit and sign it
  • Jarvis suggests a reschedule -- you confirm or reject it
  • Warren suggests a report -- you review and approve before sharing
AI agents cannot make changes to your practice data without your

explicit approval. Every suggestion is logged in the audit trail regardless of whether it is accepted or rejected. :::

AI Roles and Permissions

AI agent access is controlled by your practice role and permissions. Your practice administrator can enable or disable individual agents and configure which actions each agent is permitted to perform.

Your RoleAI Access Level
Practice ownerFull access to all agents, can configure AI settings
SupervisorFull clinical agent access, can view AI audit trail
PractitionerAccess to agents relevant to own clients and records
InternLimited agent access, suggestions require supervision
ReceptionistOperations agent (Jarvis) for scheduling and billing
AccountantLimited to billing and analytics agents

Each agent can only access data you have permission to see. For example, Praxi can only draft notes for your own clients, and Jarvis can only schedule appointments for clients assigned to you.
