Knowledge Base

The Knowledge Base is a centralised repository of clinical templates, evidence-based resources, and practice knowledge that supports your day-to-day clinical and administrative work. It is also the source material that Praxi's AI agents draw on when providing suggestions and generating content.

Overview

The Knowledge Base combines curated clinical content with your practice's own documents and templates, making it easy to find the right resource at the right time.

Content TypeDescription
Clinical templatesNote templates, treatment plan frameworks, risk assessment guides
Evidence-based resourcesPsychoeducation handouts, therapeutic worksheets, intervention guides
Practice documentsInternal protocols, referral pathways, service descriptions
AI-curated articlesSummaries of clinical guidelines and research, curated by Ada

Getting Started

Accessing the Knowledge Base

  1. Navigate to Knowledge Base from the sidebar
  2. Browse by category or use the search bar to find specific resources
  3. Click any resource to view, download, or share it

Searching

The Knowledge Base supports full-text search across all content types. You can:

  • Search by keyword, topic, or author
  • Filter by content type (template, resource, document, article)
  • Filter by clinical domain (anxiety, depression, trauma, child, couples, etc.)
  • Sort by relevance, date added, or popularity
You can also access Knowledge Base resources directly from the command

palette (Ctrl+K / Cmd+K) by typing "kb:" followed by your search term. :::

Key Features

Clinical Templates

Pre-built templates for common clinical documentation needs.

  7. Save

Evidence-Based Resources

A library of clinical resources curated for Australian healthcare practitioners.

Resource TypeDescription
Psychoeducation handoutsClient-facing materials explaining conditions and treatments
Therapeutic worksheetsActivity sheets for CBT thought records, behavioural experiments, values exercises
Intervention guidesStep-by-step protocols for evidence-based interventions
Assessment guidesAdministration and interpretation guides for standardised measures
Clinical guidelinesSummaries of Australian clinical practice guidelines

Resources are tagged with evidence levels and source references. You can share them with clients via the Client Portal.

Practice Knowledge

Upload and organise your practice's internal knowledge:

  • Referral pathways — document your local referral network and criteria
  • Service descriptions — standardised descriptions of services your practice offers
  • Protocols — internal clinical protocols (e.g., crisis response, DNA follow-up)
  • Onboarding materials — resources for new team members

AI-Curated Content

Praxi's AI agent Ada continuously curates relevant clinical content:

  • Summaries of new clinical practice guidelines relevant to your specialisations
  • Research digests from key journals (Australian and international)
  • Updates to regulatory requirements (PsyBA, AHPRA, Privacy Act)
  • Best practice recommendations tailored to your practice type

AI-curated content is clearly labelled and includes source references. It is reviewed for accuracy but should always be verified against primary sources for clinical decision-making.

AI-curated content is supplementary. Always verify clinical

recommendations against the primary source material before applying them to patient care. :::

Knowledge Levels

Knowledge is organised in three tiers, each with different visibility and management:

LevelDescriptionWho Manages
IndustryPsychology best practices, regulations, researchPraxi (shared)
OrganisationPractice-specific policies, templates, preferencesPractice owner
PersonalIndividual shortcuts, preferences, patternsEach practitioner

Industry-level knowledge is shared across all practices as read-only content. Organisation and personal knowledge is private to your practice or account.

Knowledge Indexing

When you add documents to the Knowledge Base, Praxi indexes the content using semantic search so that AI agents can reference it when assisting you. For example:

  • Praxi can draw on your practice's clinical protocols when generating note suggestions
  • Jarvis can reference your service descriptions when answering client enquiries
  • Ada can cross-reference your uploaded resources with current evidence

Indexing happens automatically in the background. You can control which documents are available to AI agents in the Knowledge Base settings.

Sharing with Clients

Share appropriate resources with clients through the Client Portal:

  1. Open the resource you want to share
  2. Click Share with Client
  3. Select the client(s)
  4. The resource appears in their Client Portal library
  5. The client receives a notification

Only resources marked as client-appropriate can be shared. Clinical and internal documents are excluded.

Evidence Grading and Quality

Resources in the Knowledge Base include quality indicators:

  • Evidence level -- Indicates the strength of the supporting evidence
  • Source references -- Links to primary sources and citations
  • Verification status -- Whether the content has been reviewed for accuracy
  • Quality score -- Tracks how useful the resource has been based on feedback

These indicators help you quickly assess the reliability of any resource before using it in clinical decision-making.

Deep Research

Ada can perform deep research on clinical topics:

  1. Ask Ada a research question through the AI chat
  2. Ada searches and synthesises relevant evidence from the knowledge base and available sources
  3. Results include source citations and evidence grading
  4. You can save research findings to the Knowledge Base for future reference
