Academy Learning Modules
Each learning module is a structured study unit with estimated hours, PsyBA-style domain tags, and a multi-tab module player.
Opening a module
- Go to Academy → Learn, or open a week from a Course syllabus
- Select a module — URL shape:
/academy/learn/{module-code} - Progress starts automatically on first open (content progress percentage)
Locked weeks (when you are enrolled on a course with sequential unlock) show an honest lock message and a link back to the syllabus — you are not shown a false "continue" into content you cannot access.
Module player tabs
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Content | Structured sections with headings, media embeds, key-term tooltips, citations, and reading progress |
| Cases | Case studies with demographics, cultural notes, and discussion prompts (notes can stay on-device) |
| Exercises | Guided exercises; interactive labs run in-app when configured (e.g. classic psychology demos) |
| Assessments | In-module items — formative check answers and mastery quiz submit (see below) |
| Resources | Recommended reading / media list when the module has a reading list |
| Discussion | Peer discussion threads plus peer review for that module when enabled |
Formative vs mastery assessments
- Check answer — formative. You get option feedback or a model answer without treating the attempt as a board-style exam.
- Submit quiz / mastery — records a mastery score for the module (tiers such as proficient / mastered use the weighted formula shown in the player). This is learning progress, not an OSCE or registration exam.
Attempt history appears when the mastery API has prior attempts.
Media and active learning
Where seeds include media embeds, the player shows pre-prompts, guided timestamp questions, and post-tasks you can complete for yourself (stored for that browser session). Empty or broken embeds show an honest unavailable state.
Discussion and peer review
- Start or reply to threads in the module forum (forums auto-provision when you first open Discussion)
- Flag posts for facilitator review if needed
- Peer review: submit work for review, or complete reviews assigned to you (score 0–100 maps to the system’s 0–1 scale; feedback is released after facilitator finalisation where that workflow applies)
AI tutor
The floating AI Tutor is grounded on the current module when possible (module knowledge base entries). If generative AI is unavailable, you may still see knowledge-base snippets rather than a silent failure. The tutor is an educational aid — not clinical advice.
Looking after yourself
Modules that touch trauma, risk, self-care, forensic, or cultural safety content may show a calm learner care banner with links to:
- Private Journal (reflection pre-filled from the module)
- Wellbeing K10 check-in
- Crisis contacts (e.g. Lifeline 13 11 14) — Academy tools are not emergency services
Progress, mastery, and CPD
- Content progress — sections read (sticky on mobile so you can see it while scrolling)
- Mastery — quiz-driven tier and spaced-review prompts when overdue
- Add to CPD — after module completion, log once into Praxi CPD tracking
Mobile tips
- Progress stays visible at the top while you read
- Tabs scroll horizontally inside the tab strip (the page should not slide sideways)
- Table of contents opens as a drawer on small screens; sticky sidebar on large screens
