CPD Tracking

Praxi helps practitioners track their continuing professional development (CPD) activities to meet AHPRA registration requirements. Log activities, upload evidence, and generate reports for your annual renewal.

Automatic CPD Logging

Praxi can automatically log CPD hours from your calendar activities:

From Meetings

When you create a meeting from the calendar (e.g., Peer Supervision, Case Consultation, Training Session), Praxi detects whether the meeting type is CPD-eligible. When the meeting is marked as completed, Praxi creates a draft CPD suggestion for each attendee who was present -- nothing is logged until the practitioner reviews and accepts the suggestion from their CPD dashboard.

CPD-eligible meeting types include: Peer Supervision, Formal Supervision, Case Consultation, Journal Club, Clinical Governance, Training Session, Grand Rounds, External Webinar, External Conference, Research Meeting, Quality Improvement, Morbidity & Mortality Review, and Cultural Safety Training.

From Supervision Sessions

When both supervisor and supervisee sign a supervision session, Praxi creates a draft CPD suggestion for each party under the "Peer Consultation" category. Each party accepts the suggestion from their own CPD dashboard before the hours are recorded.

From Calendar CPD/Training Blocks

When you block time on the calendar using the "CPD/Training" type, you can optionally enter CPD details (activity title, provider, type). This creates a draft CPD activity that you can later enrich with reflection notes and evidence.

Organisation Settings

Practice owners can control auto-logging behaviour in Settings > Clinical Settings:

  • Auto-log CPD from completed meetings (default: on)
  • Auto-log CPD from signed supervision sessions (default: on)
  • Require reflection notes before verifying auto-logged activities (default: off)

Reviewing Suggestions

The CPD dashboard shows a banner when unlogged activities are detected from meetings and supervision sessions. Click Review to accept or dismiss suggestions.

  1. Navigate to Development > CPD
  2. Click Add Activity
  3. Enter the activity details:
    • Title and description
    • Date completed
    • Hours (or points, depending on your profession)
    • Category (see below)
    • Provider or organisation

Internship Logbook (5+1 Pathway)

Provisionally registered psychologists can use the built-in internship logbook to track their progress through the 5+1 internship programme, aligned with PsyBA's LBPP-76 requirements.

Creating a Logbook

  1. Navigate to Development > Internship Logbook
  2. Click Create Logbook
  3. Enter the logbook details:
    • Pathway type (e.g., 5+1, 4+2)
    • Primary supervisor
    • Start date
    • Expected end date
  4. Save

Weekly Entries

Log weekly activities including:

  • Client hours (direct and indirect)
  • Supervision hours
  • Professional development
  • Reflections and learning outcomes

Each entry can be signed by the intern and then submitted for supervisor review and counter-signature.

Auto-Population from Appointments

Praxi can suggest weekly entry content based on completed appointments:

  1. Go to your logbook and click View Suggestions
  2. Review the auto-populated data from your appointment history
  3. Accept suggestions to create a draft entry, or dismiss them
  4. Edit the draft and add reflections before submitting

Competency Matrix

Track progress against PsyBA core competencies:

  • View all competencies and your self-assessment level for each
  • Update self-assessments and link them to specific logbook entries
  • Supervisors can review and rate competency progress

Milestones

Key milestones in the internship (e.g., mid-placement review, final assessment) are tracked with:

  • Completion dates and signatures from both intern and supervisor
  • Supporting evidence

Direct Observation

Schedule and record direct observation sessions:

  • Log observation dates, types, and outcomes
  • Supervisors record their observations and feedback

Leave Management

Track leave periods during the internship:

  • Log leave dates, types, and durations
  • Leave periods are factored into compliance calculations

Supervisor Approval

Supervisors review and approve logbook entries:

  • View pending entries awaiting approval
  • Approve or request changes with feedback
  • Counter-sign entries and milestones

External Supervisors

If you have supervision arrangements with practitioners outside your practice:

  • Register external supervisors with their AHPRA details
  • Link supervision entries to the external supervisor

Registrar Programmes

For practitioners on the registrar programme (area of practice endorsement pathway), Praxi provides a separate programme tracker:

  • Create a registrar programme with the endorsement area and requirements
  • Log weekly entries specific to the registrar pathway
  • Track progress toward endorsement requirements

Logbook PDF Export

Generate an LBPP-76 compliant PDF of your logbook for submission:

  1. Go to your logbook and click Export PDF
  2. The PDF includes all entries, competencies, milestones, and signatures
  3. Download for submission to the Psychology Board

Compliance Status

View your logbook's compliance status at a glance:

  • Total hours completed versus required
  • Supervision hour compliance
  • Outstanding milestones
  • Any compliance issues flagged

Evidence Uploads

For each CPD activity, you can upload supporting evidence:

  • Certificates of attendance or completion
  • Conference receipts
  • Reflective practice entries
  • Workshop handouts or materials
  • Supervision logs

Evidence is stored securely and linked to the corresponding CPD entry.

tip

Upload evidence at the time of logging the activity rather than at renewal time. This saves you from a last-minute scramble to locate certificates and receipts.

CPD Reports

Generate reports for your registration renewal or personal records:

  1. Go to Development > CPD > Reports
  2. Select the registration period
  3. Review the summary by category
  4. Export as PDF for submission to AHPRA or your professional association

The report includes:

  • Total hours by category
  • List of activities with dates and evidence status
  • Any shortfalls against minimum requirements

Renewal Reminders

Praxi sends reminders as your registration renewal approaches:

  • 90 days before -- Notification to review your CPD log and address any shortfalls
  • 30 days before -- Reminder to finalise your CPD submission
  • 7 days before -- Urgent reminder to finalise your renewal immediately
  • On renewal date -- Alert if CPD requirements have not been met
