Using Snippets
Snippets hold reusable text or an AI generation prompt. Manage them in Library, alongside your other reusable content.
Create or edit a snippet
- Open Library and choose New → Snippet.
- Choose Mine or Practice where your access allows.
- Enter a name, optional shortcut, category and description.
- Add the reusable text. If using an AI snippet, configure its prompt and the available generation options instead.
- Review document-type restrictions, active state and display order, then save.
- Open the saved item and check its preview before using it.
Mine is private to its author. Owners and managers with the required access can manage Practice snippets. You can share your own personal snippet with the practice as a draft. House snippets are read-only; copy one into your own or practice Library when you need an editable version.
Keep client-specific details out of the saved definition. Review generated text and personalise inserted wording to the current note.
Insert into a note
Type / in the note and search the snippet menu. More… opens the shared
Library picker, where you can search, preview and select readable snippets. The
note toolbar also provides snippet access.
Only compatible, active content is offered. Content is checked again when you apply it, so an item that has since been retired or made unavailable cannot be inserted from an old selection.
Maintain your collection
Edit the snippet in Library when your access allows. Changes clear its previous approval. Use the retirement control to remove it from new work while keeping its history and leaving existing notes unchanged.
Shortcuts and display order are part of the snippet's saved fields. Text replacement rules remain a separate Settings configuration.
