Live Clinical Guidance

Available on:
StudentEssentialsProEnterprise

During a telehealth or phone session with voice transcription active, Praxi's clinical assistant can show live reflection prompts. They appear in the guidance panel and only the practitioner can see them.

What Live Guidance Shows

Praxi reads the session transcript and may surface:

  • Reflective questions -- Follow-up questions grounded in what was said, to help you explore further
  • Homework check -- Reminders to review homework you already assigned
  • Goal progress -- Prompts about which goals in your documented plan have or have not come up this session

Each prompt has a Dismiss button and an Add to Note button, so you can bring a relevant point into your clinical note.

Prompts are optional. They are reminders drawn from the transcript and

your own plan, not directions. Clinical judgement stays with you. :::

What Live Guidance Does Not Do

Live guidance does not assess risk, suggest techniques or interventions, or recommend assessments. No automated risk assessment is provided. Use your own clinical assessment and record risk in the client's risk register.

Ask Praxi

You can ask Praxi a question during a session without leaving it:

  1. Type your question in the box at the bottom of the guidance panel
  2. Praxi answers questions about documentation, reflection or evidence, using the session context
  3. The question and answer are visible only to you, not to the client

Privacy and Data Handling

Live clinical guidance is designed with strict privacy controls:

  • No data stored without consent -- Session audio and transcript data used for live guidance are processed in real time and not retained beyond the session unless the client has consented to AI processing
  • Practitioner-only visibility -- All prompts and Ask Praxi responses are visible only to the practitioner, never to the client
  • No training data -- Session content is never used to train AI models
  • Audit logged -- All AI interactions during a session are recorded in the audit trail for compliance purposes
AI Processing Consent Live clinical guidance requires both transcription

consent and AI processing consent from the client. If the client consents to transcription but not AI processing, the transcript is captured but Praxi does not show prompts. Voice transcription and AI processing settings can be configured under Settings > AI. :::

In-Person vs Telehealth Sessions

Live guidance shows only in telehealth and phone sessions. In person, couples and group sessions, the guidance panel explains that live reflection is unavailable. Use the AI tab for documentation and reflection instead.

Subscription Requirements

Live clinical guidance is available on PRO and ENTERPRISE subscriptions. ESSENTIALS subscribers have access to voice transcription but not real-time guidance during sessions.
