When creating an invoice, Praxi can suggest the most appropriate MBS item number based on the appointment type, duration, and provider type. The AI suggestion includes a confidence indicator — always review and confirm before submitting.

Medicare Rebates

The scheduled rebate is set by Medicare (85% of schedule fee for allied health). Your invoice can be for any amount — the gap is the difference between your fee and the rebate. Clients can claim the rebate from Medicare after paying you, or you can bulk bill and accept the rebate as full payment. Schedule fees are maintained in the MBS item database and updated when new MBS schedules are released. :::

Session Limits

Track Medicare session usage per client:

Mental Health Treatment Plans do not have a 12-month expiry. GP referrals are for 6 sessions at a time, with a new referral letter required after each set of 6. The 10-session limit resets each calendar year. :::
