Live Collaboration
Live collaboration powers the Collaborative (live) and Practitioner-led delivery modes for Client Tools. You and your client see the same tool in the same state, and edits appear in real time.
What you can do
- Shared live view — both parties see the same tool, updating as either side types.
- Edit-lock indicators — when one party is editing a field, the other sees who's in it and waits, so changes never collide. Locks release automatically a few seconds after typing stops.
- Presence — avatars show who's currently connected.
- Reconnection recovery — if your connection drops briefly, Praxi replays the changes you missed when you reconnect, so nothing is lost.
Mode locks once the session starts
Once the first response is saved, the tool's delivery mode is fixed for that assignment — a form filled in live can't later be switched to another mode. This protects the integrity of a completed, signed form (Electronic Transactions Act 1999). To change the mode, use Clone and resend: the clone links to the original and starts fresh.
What's not included yet
Simultaneous typing in the same field by two practitioners isn't supported — whoever starts editing holds the field until they move on. Real-time multi-cursor co-editing is on the roadmap if demand emerges.
