Template Management
Client Tool templates live in a three-tier hierarchy: System (curated by Praxi), Practice (customised by your organisation), and Mine (personal templates authored by an individual practitioner). When you open the Client Tools picker, you see all three tiers; the tier badge tells you whether you are allowed to edit, fork, or only assign.
This is a direct parallel to the clinical-notes snippet hierarchy (System → Organisation → Personal) — same mental model, same permission shape.
Tier overview
| Tier | Authored by | Who can assign | Who can edit | Fork allowed? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| System | Praxi | Everyone | Praxi only | Yes |
| Practice | Your practice admins | Everyone in your org | Practice Owners and Practice Managers | Yes |
| Mine | Individual practitioner | Author only | Author only | Yes |
"Fork" means clone-and-edit: make a copy of a System or Practice template, keep it as Mine or promote to Practice, and edit freely. The original stays untouched and keeps receiving System-level updates from Praxi.
Preview-as-client
The authoring UI has a View as client toggle that renders the template in the actual portal renderer — not a mock. This catches field visibility and rendering issues before you publish.
Versioning and audit
Every template version is immutable once published. Assigning a tool captures a version snapshot onto the assignment — so if Praxi updates the System PHQ-9 three weeks after you assigned it, the client still sees the version you assigned.
Template changes are recorded in the audit log, so you can see who changed what and when.
Clone-and-fork
Any template you can see, you can fork. Click Fork to My Templates or Fork to Practice Templates (the latter requires practice template authoring access — see Permissions). The fork captures the full schema at that point; it does not track upstream changes. This is deliberate — a forked template is yours to evolve.
Personal templates
Every practitioner can author personal templates (Mine tier). Personal templates are visible only to the author and are never shown to colleagues or clients outside your direct assignment. They suit one-off experiments, supervision-in-progress templates, or drafts before promoting to Practice.
Practice Owners and Practice Managers can author Practice-tier templates by default; other roles author personal (Mine) templates.
Archival
Practice and personal templates can be archived by their owner. Archived templates hide from the picker (and can no longer be forked) but keep existing assignments working.
