Action Required System

The Action Required system surfaces tasks that need your immediate attention, helping you stay on top of clinical, administrative, and compliance obligations. It appears as a dashboard widget and is available to practitioners, practice owners, supervisors, and receptionists.

Overview

The Action Required widget consolidates outstanding tasks from across Praxi into a single, prioritised list. Each item links directly to the relevant page so you can resolve it without searching.

Reviewing Items

  1. Open your Dashboard -- the Action Required widget is displayed on the home page
  2. Review the list of outstanding items, sorted by priority
  3. Click any item to navigate directly to the relevant page
  4. Complete the required action (sign a note, submit a claim, update a credential)
  5. The item is automatically removed from the list once resolved

Snoozing Items

Some items can be temporarily snoozed if you intend to address them later. Snoozed items reappear after the snooze period if not resolved.

warning

Unsigned clinical notes and expiring credentials cannot be permanently snoozed. These items will continue to appear until the underlying issue is resolved, as they relate to compliance obligations.

Compliance & Record Retention

info

Privacy Act 1988 — The Action Required system helps you meet your obligations under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and AHPRA guidelines. Clinical records must be retained for a minimum of 7 years (or until a minor client turns 25, whichever is later). Unsigned notes and expiring credentials are flagged as compliance items because they directly affect your legal record-keeping requirements. All action history is encrypted at rest.

Notifications

In addition to the dashboard widget, Action Required items can trigger notifications:

  • In-app notifications -- badge count on the notification bell
  • Email reminders -- daily digest of outstanding items (configurable)
  • SMS alerts -- for critical items only (if enabled)

Configure notification preferences at Settings > Notifications.
