Navigating Praxi
The bottom toolbar is your main navigation, across your desktops and pages. Its menus show the pages available to your role and practice.
Find your way around

Apps opens a grid of icons with short labels. Search by app name or choose a category. Related pages have their own tiles. Use the arrows beneath the grid for more apps. Clinical, Practice and Team in the top bar switch desktops; changing an Apps category does not change your desktop.
With a mouse, hover over Apps, Search or Praxi AI to open it. Clicking works too. On touch screens, tap. Open notifications from the bell in the top bar. Right-click empty desktop space to add a sticky note.
Search without leaving your work
Click Search and start typing, or press Cmd+K on Mac / Ctrl+K on Windows. Choose a result to open it. The toolbar search includes Keep open in panel for searches you want to keep beside the current page.
A mouse hover previews search without taking focus away from what you are typing. Click Search or its input when you are ready to type.
Save a page to the toolbar
There are two ways to keep a frequently used page close:
- In a page grid, use that tile's pin control, labelled Add [page] to toolbar.
- While on a page, open + and choose Add to toolbar.
Saved pages appear after a divider. Select an icon to return to that page. Remove a shortcut with its Close [page] control; this removes the shortcut, not the page or its records. Already-saved pages cannot be added twice.
Drag toolbar tools or saved pages to reorder them within their group. With the keyboard, focus an icon and use Alt+Left Arrow or Alt+Right Arrow. Saved workspace preferences belong to your signed-in account and practice. On mobile, saved pages are available in More.
Panels and full pages
A toolbar utility such as Tasks opens beside the page so you can keep working. A page tile such as Calendar opens the full page. Panel headers provide close, pin and expand controls where supported. See Working with panels.
Display and accessibility
Open your photo or initials, then Appearance → Make it your own to choose a room or plain background, reduce motion, use a solid surface for extra contrast, and show labels beneath toolbar icons. Open your photo or initials, then Accessibility for additional display controls.
Use Tab to reach controls, Enter or Space to activate buttons, and Escape to dismiss menus. Touch navigation does not require hovering.
Try it once
Find Calendar in Apps, right-click or hold it and choose Add to toolbar, then return Home using the door icon. Open Search, find a page by name, and try keeping search open in a panel. These same controls remain available as you move around Praxi.
