Mobile App Setup
The Praxi Practitioner App gives you access to your schedule, client records, and clinical notes from your iPhone or iPad.
Downloading the App
- Open the App Store on your iOS device.
- Search for Praxi Practitioner.
- Tap Get to download and install the app.
Minimum Requirements — The Praxi Practitioner App requires iOS 17.0 or later. Ensure your device is running a supported version before installing.
Logging In
- Open the Praxi Practitioner App.
- Enter the email address associated with your Praxi account.
- Enter your password.
- If your organisation has two-factor authentication enabled, you will be prompted to enter a verification code from your authenticator app.
Your session will remain active for as long as your organisation's session policy allows.
Enabling Push Notifications
Push notifications keep you informed about upcoming appointments, client messages, and practice alerts.
- When prompted after first login, tap Allow to enable notifications.
- If you dismissed the prompt, go to iOS Settings > Praxi Practitioner > Notifications and enable Allow Notifications.
- Within the app, go to Settings > Notifications to customise which notification types you receive.
We recommend enabling notifications for appointment reminders and urgent client communications at a minimum. You can always fine-tune your preferences later.
Setting Up Biometric Authentication
For faster and more secure access, you can enable Face ID or Touch ID:
If your device has Face ID or Touch ID enrolled, the app offers biometric login automatically on the sign-in screen. You can also manage it manually:
- Open the app and tap More in the navigation bar.
- Under Account, tap Security.
- Toggle Biometric Authentication on (a quick-unlock PIN is also available here).
Once enabled, you can unlock the app with Face ID or Touch ID instead of entering your password each time.
Android Users
The Praxi Practitioner App is currently available on iOS only. Android support is on our roadmap.
In the meantime, Android users can install Praxi as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for a native-like experience:
- Open Chrome on your Android device.
- Navigate to your practice's Praxi URL (e.g.,
app.praxi.au). - Tap the browser menu (three dots) and select Install app or Add to Home screen.
- The PWA will appear on your home screen and function similarly to a native app.
PWA Limitations on Android — While the PWA provides most functionality, some features such as background sync and push notifications may behave differently compared to a native app. See Offline Mode for details.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Cannot find app in App Store | Ensure you are searching in the Australian App Store and your device meets the minimum iOS version. |
| Login fails | Verify your credentials on the web app first. Contact your practice administrator if your account is locked. |
| Notifications not appearing | Check iOS notification settings and ensure Do Not Disturb is not enabled. |
| Biometrics not working | Ensure Face ID or Touch ID is configured in your device settings. |
If you continue to experience issues, contact your practice administrator or reach out to Praxi support.
