Guided Tours

Praxi includes a built-in guidance system that walks you through key features with step-by-step tours. Each tour spotlights individual interface elements and explains what they do, so you can learn at your own pace.

Learn the workspace first

Start with Home and Navigating Praxi for a short guide to desktops, widgets, toolbar icon grids and saved pages. The welcome orientation points out the toolbar, quick search, Praxi AI and notifications. Tours are optional; you can use the toolbar immediately without completing one.

Spotlight tours are currently available on desktop. On a small screen, use these guides and the responsive Getting Started checklist instead.

Getting Started Widget

When you first log in, you'll see a Getting Started card on your Home page. It shows your onboarding progress and contains a checklist of setup tasks.

Each checklist item links to a specific page and — where available — launches a guided tour that highlights the important elements on that page.

Checklist Items

The checklist is tailored to your role. Practice owners see billing and team setup items, while practitioners see clinical-focused items. Common items include:

How Tours Work

When you click a checklist item:

  1. You're navigated to the relevant page
  2. A spotlight overlay highlights the first element
  3. A callout card explains what the element does
  4. Use Next / Back to step through, or Skip to exit
  5. Keyboard shortcuts: → or Enter for next, ← for back, Esc to skip

Each tour step may include a Learn more link that opens the relevant documentation page in a new tab.

Dismissing Tours

  • Skip a tour: Click the X button or press Esc on any step. The tour won't show again unless you reactivate it.
  • Close the widget for now: Click the close dropdown and select Close for now. It reappears on your next session.
  • Hide permanently: Select Don't show again. You can reactivate later.

Reactivating Tours

If you've dismissed the Getting Started widget or completed all items, you can restart the tours:

  1. Go to Settings > System > Praxi AI
  2. Turn on Show Getting Started Guide

This brings the Getting Started card back on your Home page so you can revisit the checklist and relaunch its tours.

Tips

  • Tours only play when you activate them — they never auto-start
  • You can revisit any completed checklist item to replay its tour
  • Each tour step's Learn more link opens documentation in a new tab so you don't lose your place
  • The AI assistant can also help -- the checklist sends a contextual greeting to the AI panel when you click an item
