BSP Section Commenting

Practitioners and authorised stakeholders can now leave threaded comments directly on Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans (CBSPs) inside Praxi — no more downloading, marking up red-text edits, and re-uploading.

What you can do

  • Comment on a whole BSP or anchor to a specific section (Profile and history, Behaviour description, Functional behaviour assessment, Implementation guide, Monitoring and review, Restrictive practices).
  • Anchor to a text selection — select any text inside a section, click "Comment on selection", and your comment is pinned to that exact range. Other reviewers see the highlighted region.
  • Threaded replies — reply to any comment to keep the discussion in context.
  • @mentions — type @ followed by a colleague's name to notify them; they receive a BSP comment activity notification.
  • Emoji reactions — quick 👍 / ❤️ / 🎉 acknowledgements without writing a reply.
  • Resolve or dismiss — practitioners can dismiss comments that have been addressed but don't require resolution (a "wontfix" equivalent). Dismissed comments stay in the audit trail; switch the filter to Dismissed to review them later.
  • Filter the sidebar — chips at the top: All / Open / Dismissed / Mine / @Me.

Where it lives

  • Practitioner view — open a BSP from the Behaviour Support → Participants list and choose the plan. Each section header shows a small comment bubble with the open-comment count; click it (or use the right-rail sidebar) to read and post.
  • Stakeholder view — invited stakeholders (support coordinators, family members, nominees, implementing-provider staff) see the same sidebar in their Stakeholder Portal at /stakeholder-portal/[participantId]/bsp. They can read and reply; they can't dismiss. Stakeholders with read_only access level see comments but can't post.
  • iOS — the PraxiPractitioner app shows the same comment sidebar; long-press text to select and anchor a comment. PraxiPortal lets stakeholders read + reply (anchored selection is practitioner-only on iOS for now).

Who sees what

Comment visibility follows BSP visibility — any staff member with access to a BSP (behaviour support practitioners and clinical supervisors for their own caseload; practice owners and managers practice-wide) can read its comments, as can invited stakeholders. Posting is available to all staff with BSP access and to stakeholders whose access level permits interaction (read-only stakeholders can view but not post). The original BSP author and clinical supervisors can dismiss comments; stakeholders cannot.

Notifications

When you @mention someone, or when a stakeholder comments on a BSP, the primary practitioner gets a BSP comment activity notification. You can opt out per category in Notification preferences, but the practice default is on.

Privacy and audit

Comment content is treated as PHI — the comment text itself never appears in audit logs (only the comment ID, target, and actor). Every comment, edit, dismiss, and reaction is captured in the audit trail (7-year retention), and comments are encrypted at rest.

Coming next

  • Stakeholder anchored selection on iOS — text-range anchoring is practitioner-only on iOS today; stakeholders use whole-section comments. Web is unaffected.
  • @mention type-ahead — currently a simple @name syntax; full inline picker is coming.
