Submit bulk-bill claims
Praxi is completing Services Australia conformance testing for Medicare Online Claiming. Production claiming becomes available once Services Australia grants the Notice of Integration (NOI). This page describes how the workflow operates so your practice can prepare; we will update it when certification completes.
Bulk billing assigns the client's Medicare benefit to your practice. Finish Medicare setup for the provider and location before submitting.
Prepare the invoice
- Open Finance > Invoices or the invoice linked to the appointment.
- Check the client, service date, provider number and MBS-coded items.
- Check the client's Medicare details and any referral required by the item.
Record consent and submit
- Choose Submit Medicare claim from the invoice.
- Select Bulk Bill and review the claim panel's verification result.
- Complete Assignment of Benefit Consent (DB4) before submitting. Follow Record bulk-bill consent for the available methods and existing-consent checks.
- Resolve any validation messages, then select Submit Claim.
DB4 is required before every bulk-billed claim, including claims through Tyro. Verbal assignment is accepted for services through 30 June 2027; use a digital method for services from 1 July 2027.
Follow the result
Open Finance > Claims and choose Medicare. Submission is separate from assessment and payment. See Medicare claims in Finance and Medicare reports.
Resolve a rejection
Read the returned code and message on the claim. Use Medicare claiming errors to find the next step before resubmitting; the Services Australia message describes the specific problem.
