Check and go live

Certification in progress

Praxi is completing Services Australia conformance testing for Medicare Online Claiming. Production claiming becomes available once Services Australia grants the Notice of Integration (NOI). This page describes the workflow so your practice can prepare.

Use the final step of Set up Medicare after your provider numbers, HW027 forms and bulk billing agreement are in place.

Check what is still waiting

Open Check and go live and read each location's status. Waiting on Services Australia means an external step is outstanding. Services Australia sends no HW027 confirmation and processing can take a few weeks.

On Praxi's PRODA, Praxi links the Location ID on your behalf and notifies you when its link is recorded. On your own PRODA, you check processing, link the location in PRODA and confirm both against each HW027 before running the check. See Lodge an HW027 or Use your own PRODA.

Run a check at each linked location

  1. Find the location that is ready for a patient check.
  2. Search Client with a Medicare card and select a client whose Medicare details are in Praxi.
  3. Ask the client to agree to the check, then tick This client agreed to have their Medicare details checked. No claim is made.
  4. Select Run the check for that location.
  5. Read the result and the current setup status. A successful check activates pending provider links at that location; other providers and locations may still be waiting.
  6. Repeat at each location. Run another check when a new provider's link is pending.

This verifies Medicare details without claiming a service. The check needs the client's agreement; it is separate from DB4 bulk-bill consent. When setup permits it, select Open Medicare to reach your claims in Finance. Readiness at one location does not clear outstanding steps at another.

Finish on the Tyro path

There is no patient check to run in this step when you use Tyro. Praxi marks it done when Tyro has been checked. Follow the displayed status and return to Connect Tyro if the connection still needs attention.
