Change how your practice claims

Praxi is completing Services Australia conformance testing for Medicare Online Claiming. Production claiming becomes available once Services Australia grants the Notice of Integration (NOI). This page describes the workflow so your practice can prepare.

An owner or manager can change the connection your practice uses for Medicare.

Choose the connection​

  1. Open Settings > Medicare > PRODA & claiming.
  2. Find How claims are sent.
  3. Choose Praxi's PRODA, Your own PRODA or Tyro.
  4. Review the confirmation and select Change and continue.
  5. Finish the steps shown in the Medicare setup wizard. Praxi keeps what you have already set up.

Finish the steps for your new path​

  • Praxi's PRODA: use Praxi-issued Location IDs, provider numbers and signed HW027 forms. Praxi handles linking the Location IDs in its PRODA.
  • Your own PRODA: also save your organisation RA number, link the locations and activate your device. Your practice owns device renewal.
  • Tyro: connect your Tyro Health account and complete Tyro provider approval. This path skips Praxi's Location ID step; you still lodge an HW027 for each provider number at each location using Tyro's Location ID.

Follow Set up Medicare for the complete flow, Use your own PRODA for the optional extra steps, or Tyro setup for Tyro details. Record bulk-bill consent before every bulk-billed claim whichever path you choose.
