Logging In to Your Portal

Your practice will send you an invitation email with a link to set up your portal account.

First time login

  1. Open the invitation link sent to you by your practice
  2. Choose Create a passkey or Use a password instead to set up your account
  3. You will be logged in automatically after setting up your account

If your invitation has expired, you can request a new one from the login page by tapping Request one here.

Returning users

You can sign in in three ways. A passkey is the quickest.

Passkey login

  1. Go to your practice's portal URL, or open the Praxi Portal app on your iPhone
  2. Tap Continue with a passkey
  3. Confirm it's you with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or your device PIN

You don't need to type your email, a password or a code. To set up a passkey, see Passkeys below.

Password login

  1. Go to your practice's portal URL
  2. Enter your email address and password
  3. Tap Sign in

Email code login

  1. Go to your practice's portal URL
  2. Switch to the Email code tab
  3. Enter your email address and tap Send login code
  4. Check your email for a 6-digit code
  5. Enter the code and tap Sign in

Forgot your password?

  1. On the login page, tap Forgot password?
  2. Enter your email address and tap Send reset link
  3. Check your email for the reset link (it expires after 1 hour) and open it
  4. Enter and confirm your new password, then sign in as usual

You can also skip the password entirely: the Email code tab signs you in with a one-time code, and you can set a new password under Settings & security once you're in.

If you're still stuck, contact your practice and they can help you regain access.

Passkeys

A passkey lets you sign in with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or your device PIN. It only works on Praxi, so it can't be phished. It also counts as your extra security step, so you won't be asked for a code as well.

To add a passkey:

  1. Go to Settings & security in the portal (or Settings → Passkeys in the iPhone app)
  2. Tap Add a passkey
  3. Confirm it's you, then follow your device's prompt

You can rename or remove a passkey from the same place. Praxi emails you when a passkey is added or removed.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA)

Your practice may require an extra security step when you log in. When you set it up, you can choose:

  • Create a passkey (recommended), or
  • An authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Authy), which gives you a 6-digit code to enter after your password or email code

Either way, save the backup codes the portal shows you. Each one works once if you can't use your passkey or app. Praxi emails you when a backup code is used.

You can manage all of this under Settings & security in the portal. If your practice requires MFA, you can't remove your last method; add another one first.

Lost your phone?

If you lose the device with your passkey or authenticator app:

  1. Sign in with another passkey, your authenticator code or a backup code
  2. Add a new passkey under Settings & security
  3. Remove the passkey for the lost device

If you have none of these, contact your practice.

Account locked?

If your account is locked after too many failed login attempts, you can unlock it yourself:

  1. A lockout message will appear on the login page
  2. Tap the option to request an unlock email
  3. Check your email and follow the unlock link

Alternatively, contact your practice for assistance.

Trouble logging in?

  • Make sure you are using the same email address registered with your practice
  • Check your email inbox (and spam folder) for verification codes or reset links
  • Try the Email code tab if you have forgotten your password
  • Request a new invitation if your original one has expired
  • Contact your practice if you still cannot access your account
