Sending Secure Messages
Communicate with your practice through the portal's secure messaging system.
How to send a message
- Tap Messages in the portal menu
- Tap Message your practitioner
- Type your message in the conversation and tap Send
Messages work like a chat conversation with your practitioner — there's no subject line to fill in, and your whole history with them stays in one thread you can scroll back through.
Marking messages as read
Unread messages are highlighted in your inbox. Tap a message to mark it as read, or use the Mark all as read option to clear all unread indicators at once.
What to use messaging for
- Appointment queries
- General questions for your practitioner
- Requesting documents or forms
- Non-urgent matters
Important
Secure messaging is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call 000 (emergency) or Lifeline 13 11 14.
Messages are typically responded to within business hours. Response times vary by practice.
Clinical questions
For questions about your treatment, diagnosis, or medication, ask your practitioner directly during your next appointment. Messaging is best for administrative matters like scheduling and document requests.
